Tennis Racquet Evaluation

Tennis Racquet Evaluation

This was the quick notes I made when I first started out to select my tennis weapon back in the days.

  1. Babolat Pure Strike(4 1/4 grip, 300g, 100 inch sq) used 2021 May to 2022 April. Hard to serve, too heavy for long games, better with Nylon String than Natural as Nylon provides more top spins and natural needs adjustments for strokes to hit the ball really early and low to get over the net with an aggressive shot. But as my first racquet, it has been good. Not bad as a backup racquet

  2. Babolat Pure Drive team(4 1/4 grip, 100 inch sq), tested twice. Too light for me. Not comfortable serving with it. Ground strokes feels a bit flakey and unstable

  3. Babolat Pure Aero (100 inch sq), okay this night be good for Rafa but this racquet is freaking heavy and very stiff to use. SUPER Hard to serve. I like the power for ground strokes but too heavy to stay in the game for long) I didn’t realize how stiff this racquet is. It feel like I am swinging a huge piece of wood.

  4. Wilson Blade (2022 version, 102 inch) natural power, but too hard to control. big racquet head gives good power but also adds chaos in the game

  5. Wilson clash (old model, 100 inch sq) my 3rd fav testing for demo racquet so far. Great balance. Comfortable forehand and backhand shots. serving is not too bad, but not much spin as I wanted

  6. Wilson Blade Ultra 98 (old model 98 inch sq), my 2nd favorite from today. Great serving with this racquet. The lightweight makes it easy for me to generate power for serving as my elbow can bend deeper than a heavier racquet, however, this means ground strokes would be less forgiving, and hard to generate powerful aggressive shots

  7. Head Boom Pro (100-inch sq), heavy racquet. good ground stroke, hard to serve, stiff to play with (might be good for advanced players but not for me)

  8. HEAD graphene extreme mp (300g, 100inch sq), the same weight as the current one however, less stiff and has a light feel. A bit easier for me to serve than my current racquet and more flexible to manoeuvre. great to spin, tried a couple of slices, happy with the results. 2nd Racquet here I come.
